Advanced Estimating and Bidding

You will learn how to:

• Evaluate your cost structure: labor burden, material allowance and contingency funds
• Find gaps in your estimating and bidding systems and procedures
• Use software to enhance your bidding process
• Develop effective clauses for your bids and contracts
• Negotiate change orders
• Work with subcontractors, architects and engineers

Special features of this program

You will be involved in a capstone project that requires the development of a full bid for a New Residential Construction including terms, subcontractors agreements, architectural plans, permits research and project construction schedule. You will present the bid to an architect, the client and a lender. Prime contractors, architects and project managers are also involved in the instruction.
